Since 1985, Marketplace Properties has improved communities through commercial real estate development, investment and management. Initially, Marketplace focused on the development of neighborhood grocery anchored shopping centers primarily in Southern California, with over 20 in all. Over the years, Marketplace has expanded its development and investment portfolio, both in geography and product type to include retail, multifamily and industrial properties.

Founded in 1985 by Michael Rue, Marketplace Properties is based in Tustin, California. We have developed 24 successful neighborhood shopping center projects. Marketplace has owned or been a capital partner in over 60 retail, multifamily and industrial properties in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Ohio, and Texas.
Marketplace has been awarded numerous times by various municipalities in recognition for design excellence as well as retail development projects of the year. We take special pride in our work and strive to leave every project taken on far better than it was found.

Marketplace Properties’ focus is the acquisition, development, redevelopment and asset/property management of retail and retail oriented mixed-use properties. We typically invest in properties that have a value-add component, whether through improved leasing or physical redevelopment. Our focus is on neighborhood and convenience oriented shopping centers in in-fill markets that have a need for repositioning and have also acquired surplus real estate or closed/vacated stores from major retailers. Marketplace has a good reputation, the financial capacity and a proven track record that sellers can count on.
